Customizing NPCs via console - posted in Skyrim Mod Talk:.A wild Forum Lurker appears!. Ok, so I've been wondering, is it possible to change a npc's facial/skin tone/hair appearance with the console? I want to adjust the physical appearance of a whole lot of the NPCs, what do I need to do this? I want to be able to adjust using the parameters like you see when you're creating your character (not adding extra stuff or modifying textures. Hey all,
I think we've all wanted to be able to change how NPCs look at least at one point our play-throughs, either because we thought they looked too ugly and the appearance didn't suit their character, or simply because their FaceGen broke for some reason (conflicting mod for example).
You can do this using the NPC Visual Transfer Tool by ThreeTen, both on Oldrim and Special Edition. NOTE: The Special Edition version is basically identical to the Oldrim version (since I didn't alter any of the core code/features while porting) so if you don't want to read, a video walkthrough is linked here (courtesy of AV Storyteller): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GiUf_0L_GA Oldrim: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64875/? SE: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8764/?
Please note that you'll need the latest version of xEdit per the game that you'll be using.
For NMM Users: Install NPC Visual Transfer using 'Download with Manager', and install the mod as usual. Learners license restrictions texas. In your Data folder, you should see a NPC Visual Transfer folder. Inside, there will be a .bat file- run that. When running this the first time through, it will ask you if you want to create a new .esp for the Visual Transfer data. You can name it whatever you like, but make sure that it is below any NPC-related mod once you're done (any mod that alters NPC records). You'll then proceed to a new window like this: http://imgur.com/a/uUPZ0
Now, select an NPC whose visuals you want to use- if its a follower mod, make sure it was activated in the load order beforehand. Then, select the NPC you want to change, and voila- you have done it! Quit, and save. (NOTE: Only save the created .esp, if your follower .esp shows up, uncheck it!)
Enjoy your altered NPC appearance in your game :)

these files must be copied from the listed directories to the correct destination directories and renamed to the correct file name (at the very end of the copy statement).
6. now you can close the script window and sseedit, make sure that you only save your replacer file when prompted.

7. make sure that VNPC_Data and your mod are activated in MO and launch the game. MO may crash at this point, just relaunch it.
unfortunately it does not look like anyone is maintaining this script (lack of replies to comments), nor does it look like lepresidente is updating MO so this issue may never get fixed. I am going to submit a bug report with all of the things i have discovered trying to get this to work in MO2.

Now, if you need any help or assistance, I'll only be able to provide support on the Special Edition page, as ThreeTen has retired from modding and has thus entrusted me with its maintenance.
